Frogking Inspire 2023

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Kwok Mang Ho (Frogking) grew up in Hong Kong and has traveled all over the world, including Bangkok, Beijing, Melbourne, Toronto, Berlin, Busan, Denmark, London, Macau, Hong Kong, New York, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and Tokyo. His works include all types of media. He studied under Lui Shoukun, and his works range from ink to mixed media and sculpture.

His works include One Second Body Installation and One Second Live Art. In 1987, he was awarded The Best Community Arts Service from City Hall New York, and is also the Hong Kong representative artist at the 54th Venice Biennale. The works are from local art and private collections. His works include recurring symbols and themes. The special eye represented by the symbol of a frog serves as a bridge for cultural exchange. Frogking’s artworks are always displayed in a condensed manner, implying continuous growth and expansion of life. The device seems to have obsessive-compulsive disorder. He massively reproduces countless paintings like a photographer.

In order to capture the most perfect one, all works are an equivalent part of the process for him. Frog King’s ink paintings are also full of experimental practice from time to time. The creative theme is expressed with his mind freely. His works are full of realism, experimentation and playfulness. He is skillful in presenting his kind and beautiful philosophical situation, which always entertains the audience and reaches the most direct communication.

On Christmas 2023, Frogking will hold the Frogking Inspire 2023 at the Cattle Depot Artist Village, which includes Frog King’s new artworks exhibited in Busan in 2023, three-dimensional installations and ink wood panel works, as well as his artistic works of students Tsang Tak Ping, Freeman Lau, Ah Chao, Hong Siu Fan, Stephen Siu and Laurence Lee are indeed very precious and rare opportunities for this contemporary art exchange to be put into practice.
