[Fringe Festival 2026] Like Water, Like Clouds

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Like Water, Like Clouds is an improvised audiovisual ritual that invites audiences to experience softness as a radical act through the cultivation and expression of Qigong.

Hakka Chinese-Canadian interdisciplinary artist Senaida Ng will guide the audience through an improvised audiovisual ritual. By integrating a custom-designed paintbrush instrument with the fluid gestures of Chinese calligraphy and the frequencies of Tibetan singing bowls, this performance creates a space for you to liberate your tense body and mind, allowing you to truly experience slowing down.

Audience members will explore hands-on how to transform physical movements into sound during the workshop, and co-create Chinese characters through sound using the sonochrome!
