EVENT DESCRIPTION

Celebrate Francophonie Festival with us this March! Even if you are not yet a French speaker, you can still immerse yourself in a friendly Francophone environment and participate in a variety of events co-organized by the Alliance Française de Hong Kong, Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, Consulate General of Belgium in Hong Kong, Wallonie – Bruxelles International, Québec Office in Hong Kong and Consulate General of Switzerland in Hong Kong, and with the support of many partners including local institutions and universities.

There is something for everyone: cinema, education and sport, exhibition, gastronomy, litterature, performing arts and business. The festival kicks off with an exhibition featuring the work of the renowned French author and comic artist Émile Bravo. The exhibition combines the art of comic books with the portrayal of the famous hero Spirou, in a dramatic historical context, that of World War II. Émile Bravo will be in Hong Kong to officiate the opening ceremony of the exhibition on March 6 and attend a series of seminars and events with the Hong Kong audience.

In addition, the Fringe Club will host four Francophone film screenings featuring L’employée du mois from Belgium, Ru from Quebec, Canada, La vie acrobate from Switzerland and Délicieux from France. Cinephiles can take this chance to discover various Francophone films.

In celebration of the Olympic Games taking place in Paris this year, the PSG Academy is organizing a series of sporting events, including three football competitions on March 17. French language workshops will be organized for those who are interested in learning more about the games.

Last but not least, a delicious cooking workshop co-organized with Towngas Cooking Centre will take place on March 15 where participants will learn how to cook the delicacy of Le Bœuf Bourguignon with a Master Chef.

Not to mention there will be associated events organized with different local institutions and universities. Immerse yourself in a French-speaking month of March and discover the beauty of the language and culture.
