EVENT DESCRIPTION
What does your ideal family trip look like? What type of scenery do you and your family hope to see? What type of souvenirs do you wish to collect as mementos of the journey?
Artists can see the world from unique perspectives. Even when memory fades away through time, they are able to capture precious moments with creativity. Travel across the museum through space and time with your handcrafted ‘viewfinder’.
In this workshop, you will collect ‘souvenirs’ by participating in artist-inspired games that aim to stimulate your senses. M+ Educators will then guide you to depict the souvenirs on a giant canvas using different painting tools. The resulting collage will reveal the hidden, interlocking connections between children and adults. Together, we will experience how art takes everyone on a journey of unknown wonders.
Co-produced by M+ Educators Cheryl Chow and Sinman Yeung, and the M+ Learning and Interpretation team, this workshop is a variation of Family Day Art Workshop: Messy Play. Complementing Things, Spaces, Interactions and Individuals, Networks, Expressions, this workshop prompts participants to discover visual culture and design objects through varying perspectives.
Tickets to this event only include admission to the workshop. All participants, except for children ages 6 and below, must purchase separate tickets for General Admission.
A portion of the event may take place outdoors under direct sunlight. Participants may be in contact with poster paint which may adhere to their clothing during the event. We recommend participants to use UV protection and bring a long apron or spare clothing for change to participate freely in the event. Please see ‘Event Arrangements’ below for details.
