Elements of Freestyle – Contemporary x Breakdance Dance Workshop with Denden Karadeniz

EVENT DESCRIPTION

In this small group workshop for experienced contemporary dancers and breakdancers, Denden Karadeniz – award-winning professional  dancer and choreographer with ISH Dance Collective, Netherlands – shares his personal “urban contemporary” floorwork methods.

Sharing tips on how to combine movements from breakdance and contemporary dance, Karadeniz demonstrates how different styles can go hand in hand to create effortless new fusion forms.

The workshop begins with a body activation and across-the-floor session, and an introduction to Karadeniz’s technique. Participants also work with Karadeniz on a choreography that blends different styles, expanding their movement vocabulary and opening up new floorwork possibilities.

This workshop is open to breakdancers and contemporary dancers aged 16 and over who wish to expand their floorwork vocabulary with new approaches.
