Drop In – Drop into the vibe of skateboarding culture

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Held from 19 December 2025 to 13 April 2026 at The Square in the DX design hub, the exhibition begins with the history of skateboarding and showcases the ‘skater spirit’ of Hong Kong skateboarders. Visitors can learn about the sport while exploring its fascinating and lesser-known extensions—to share in this joyful and diverse experience.

Since the 2020 Olympics, skateboarding has evolved into a fashionable and mainstream sport. The name Drop In – Drop into the vibe of skateboarding culture is inspired by the fundamental skateboarding move ‘drop-in’, symbolizing the idea of starting from the basics and progressively ‘dropping in’ to experience the fun and depth of its rich, diverse culture—including the sport’s development, its connection to graffiti and street art, fashion trends, music, and skateboard recycling and design—showcasing the multifaceted and vibrant essence of skateboarding culture.

Fully showcasing the diversity of skateboarding, Drop In – Drop into the vibe of skateboarding culture features a fingerboard experience zone where visitors can not only explore the exhibition but also simulate fingerboard moves and tricks. This immersive area invites them to engage with the creativity and energy of the sport while gaining a deeper appreciation of its unique charm.
