The most ancient diamonds date all the way back to 3.5 billion years ago. Miracles of nature, their geological formation gave them remarkable physical properties, which conferred upon them a unique role in history and mythology. The very origin of the word, “adamas” (“invincible, unconquerable” in Greek), recalls the uniqueness of this gem.
