In a world where technological advancements and material abundance dominate, life’s simple joys often go unnoticed. Since its founding in 2022, Wyndham Social has been dedicated to supporting local artists, providing a dynamic space for artistic expression and cultural exchange. To celebrate Hong Kong Arts Month, Wyndham Social proudly presents The Daydreams of Mr Flat Cat, the debut solo exhibition by Club Babo, running from 15 March to 6 April 2025. This exhibition reimagines classic comic art through a modern lens, featuring hand-drawn comic installations that blend pop art influences with subculture aesthetics. Led by the ever-curious and carefree Mr Flat Cat, visitors will embark on a poetic journey of daydreams, rediscovering hidden beauty in everyday life. This immersive experience invites reflection, emotional connection, and limitless imagination through art.
Curated by Wyndham Social, The Daydreams of Mr Flat Cat marks Club Babo’s creative expansion from vinyl toy objects to spatial interventions. Inspired by the timeless charm and life philosophies of classic comic strips like Peanuts, Club Babo tells hand-drawn stories filled with warmth, humor, and meaningful narratives. The exhibition transforms the Wyndham Social space into an expansive, site-specific comic installation, inviting visitors into Mr Flat Cat’s whimsical world.
Through hand-drawn comic wall installation, the exhibition captures everyday moments between Mr Flat Cat and his friends Mini Mice and Mr Potter, exploring themes of self-love, gratitude, and the unexpected joys that touch our hearts. With dynamic, expressive lines and a humorous storytelling style, the creative team brings the daydreams of Mr Flat Cat to life—transforming seemingly small, everyday moments into meaningful reflections on happiness and human connection. Club Babo has collaborated with Wyndham Social to create ten short stories. Featured works include Fear No Fear, a playful take on how the fear of failure often holds us back—when in truth, the only thing we should fear is fear itself. Meanwhile, Sharing Is Caring reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can create a ripple effect, making the world a better place.
