Call Me by Her Name

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Tracy’s solo “Call Me by Her Name” visually depicts a poem about the passive and alienated experiences of a young girl.

Drawing on her memories, she creates a scene exploring the girl’s self-positioning as she grows up. While this process seems ordinary, it reveals the pressure of gender, sexuality, and religious roles, leaving her uncertain between the Self and the Other. Observing her growth, we sense the girl’s contradictions and doubts during adolescence.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

Tsang Shuk Fan Tracy is a multi-disciplinary artist. Through her artistic practice she has particular interest in exploring the nature of objects and materials and how they influence human(self) behavior. Her works often invite herself and the audience to rethink the relation of self to things and words.
