Comics, as a universal creative medium, transcend borders and foster artistic exchange. In celebration of this dynamic art form, the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI)’s Centre for Communication Design presents “Boundless Passion: The Power of Comic across Cultures,” a limited-time exhibition running from 24 April to 8 May 2025.
The exhibition will showcase a captivating selection of comics from Hong Kong, Japan, the Czech Republic, and Belgium, highlighting their cultural significance and creative influence. Visitors can immerse themselves in nostalgic Hong Kong classics such as “Oriental Heroes” by Tony Wong, known as the “Godfather of Hong Kong Comics,” and “Feel 100%” by Jeffrey Lau. Iconic Japanese works, including “Crayon Shin-chan” and the global phenomenon “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” will also be featured. Additionally, the exhibition will shine a spotlight on distinctive European gems, such as “Anča a Pepík” and “Forget Me Not”— offering a rich visual dialogue across diverse artistic traditions.
