9 May - 19 May

One of Hong Kong’s highly-anticipated community events, Swire Properties’ “BOOKS FOR LOVE @ $10” in-person charity book sale, is just around the corner and will kick off on 9 May . The eight-day event, which is celebrating its 12th Anniversary, will be held over two consecutive weekends – from 9 to 12 and 16 to 19 May at ArtisTree and 18/F Berkshire House, Taikoo Place.

To celebrate 12 years of spreading the joy of reading, the event is offering different highlights this year, including the special “Buy 10, Get Two” promotion, exciting new wellness-themed and a series of family-friendly activities (such as Storytelling Showtime), and interactive photo opportunities.

  • MUJI, a Swire Properties tenant, is once again supporting the event with brand new books covering a wide range of topics such as fashion, food and beverage, living, travel, education and lifestyle. All books will cost just HKD10 each.
  • Interactive Storytelling Showtime: One of the most popular activities, these sessions will feature 10 storytelling partners and offer 540 young readers (from 3 to 12 years old) a chance to dive into the world of reading like never before.
  • Physical & Mental Wellbeing: A designated area this year will offer over 7,000 books on “Wellbeing and Psychology”. Readers should also try out the 30-minute “Phone Off & Read On Challenge”, as well as the Zentangle experience, to relax and recharge the soul. There will also be two Health Talks on hot health topics by Western and Chinese medical experts, as well as a clinical psychologist. Participants will receive complimentary books on the respective topics.
  • Star Wars Cosplay Parade: The Hong Kong Garrison 501st Legion will once again make a flash mob-style appearance on 10 and 18 May. Star Wars fans shouldn’t miss this chance to snap some pictures with the troop. Young readers who dress up as their favourite Star Wars character can join the parade and will receive a special gift.
  • Dive Into A Fairy-Tale World: Fairy tales are children’s best friends and help teach core values. Several fairy-tale characters will make appearances on 11 and 19 May and will be available for photos. Young readers who dress up as a fairy-tale character are welcome to join the Princess’ Cosplay Parade and will receive a delightful gift.
  • Complimentary Family-Friendly Activities: The Berkshire House venue will offer a 360-degree photo experience for the first time ever and will immerse readers in a sea of books. This is a must-go check-in spot for both families and booklovers! An ALL YOU CAN LEGO area will let young readers free their creativity and imagination and go on some fun adventures.
