EVENT DESCRIPTION
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, Swire Properties’ popular large-scale community event, “BOOKS FOR LOVE @ $10” charity sale, is back after a two-year hiatus!
Running from 25 June to 3 July at ArtisTree and Berkshire House, Taikoo Place, all books are priced at HKD10 each, and all proceeds will support the “Treasure Trove” project led by the Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA)and volunteering services by the Agency for Volunteer Service (AVS).
To thank supporters, visitors can enjoy a special “Buy 10 for 11” scheme during the sale; and explore a special showcase of inspirational illustrations created by 10 HK artists. To help spread the joy of reading, the in-person sale will feature 1,000 books donated by MUJI. In total, there will be 14 Book Genres including Arts & Design, Business & Finance, Books for Children & Teenagers, Fiction & Literature, Humanities, Languages, Law & Politics, Lifestyle, Leisure & Travel, Science, Computing & Technology, Manga, Food & Beverages, Psychology, Inspirational & Parenting, and Religion & Philosophy.
This year’s activities began with a citywide donation drive in January, which collected 300,000 pre-loved reads. An online sale – dedicated to children and teens’ books and another first for the programme, took place in May and sold more than 15,000 items.
