Hong Kong born Canadian pianist Avan Yu – pianist brings you a sparkling evening of Ravel and Chopin. Winner of the Canadian Chopin Competition at only 17, Avan’s playing has been described as “glittering virtuosity” and “astonishing sensitivity”. He first achieved international recognition when he triumphed at the Sydney International Piano Competition, winning First Prize along with nine special awards. Avan now performs extensively throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER
The HKCMS was formed in 1975 as a non-profit organization for people who enjoy solo and chamber music recitals in relaxed, elegant surroundings.Previous events have been held at such venues as:
The Hong Kong Club, The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, The Pacific Club (Kowloon),
The American Club and Government House.
Overseas ensembles who have performed for HKCMS include:
Wiener Mozart Trio, Zurich String Trio, Amati String Quartet, Coolidge String Quartet, Malaysian Piano Trio and the Concordia Ensemble.
