The Asian Modern Symphony Orchestra, founded by Wilson Ng, is making its grand debut! In the premiere concerts, the orchestra will perform contemporary pieces of China, Korea and Japan. The programme highlights works by renowned Asian composers such as Ye Xiaogang, So Ting-cheong, Chin Unsuk, Shin Donghoon, and Toshio Hosokawa, showcasing the distinctive appeal of Asian symphonic music, while honouring the timeless works that have profoundly influenced the development of symphonic music

On 1 August, alongside modern symphonic works, Bruce Liu, a Canadian-Chinese pianist and winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition, will join Wilson for a captivating performance of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 2.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

The Asian Modern Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2024 by Artistic Director Wilson Ng. It is dedicated to showcasing the unique allure of Asian symphonic music while celebrating the essence of Asian virtues. The orchestra features leading Asian soloists and members who have performed with world-class ensembles, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin, the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, and major philharmonic and symphony orchestras across Seoul, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Incheon, Québec, Bournemouth, and Thailand. The musicians speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Malay, and Thai - yet music remains their shared language.
