EVENT DESCRIPTION
M+ proudly announces the second edition of Asian Avant-Garde Film Festival, which will take place from 30 May to 1 June 2025. This vibrant three-day celebration will showcase the diverse moving image practices that have shaped Asia’s artistic landscape over the past six decades.
The festival will focus on the theme ‘Time Will Tell’, demonstrating the profound ways artists and filmmakers engage with this fundamental concept through a medium intrinsically linked to duration. Artists and filmmakers from across Asia, including May Fung, Ho Tzu Nyen, Wong Hin Yan, Tehching Hsieh, Amar Kanwar, Ali Wong Kit Yi, Chikako Yamashiro. Ho Tzu Nyen will also collaborate with independent singer-songwriter Wong Hin Yan on a new live-cinema performance at the Grand Stair. All headline guests will participate in a full programme of screenings, workshops, and discussions across the three-day festival.
