This summer, Cordis, Hong Kong is thrilled to present “City Geometry” photography exhibition as part of its signature “Art in Residence” Exhibition series, inviting guests to embark on an aesthetic journey where they unveil Hong Kong’s hidden beauty through the lens of Hong Kong Reminiscence, a photography platform renowned for capturing the essence of Hong Kong’s iconic cityscapes. The exhibition, also in celebration of the hotel’s 9th anniversary, will feature a captivating collection of geometric architectural photographs taken by Hiuman Lam, the visionary behind Hong Kong Reminiscence, leading audience to explore the simple yet complex nature of the city.

The “Art in Residence” Exhibition series aims to showcase the unique and diverse artistic spirit of Hong Kong by collaborating with different local creative units.

“City Geometry” Exhibition promises to transport guests on a visual odyssey through the heart of Hong Kong, showcasing the captivating facades of skyscrapers and mysterious alleyways, exploring the city’s diverse architectural styles. From historical landmarks to contemporary architecture, temples to museums, schools to tenement houses, villas to public estates, and commercials buildings to cultural venues, Hiuman’s photos encapsulate the essence of the cityscapes through the lens of geometry.

The “City Geometry” collection will showcase photographs of the geometric architectures captured in Hong Kong, including Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories and outlying islands. Guests and art enthusiasts will immerse themselves in the rich local history and architectural evolution from a unique perspective of points, lines and planes.

To enhance the artsy vibes and to celebrate the hotel’s 9th anniversary, the hotel team has specially prepared a series of exclusive souvenirs for the guests. Each guestroom will be furnished with a limited-edition postcard, boasting a vivid photo of a pair of Chinese door knockers of a traditional village house in Hong Kong, symbolising Cordis’ embrace of creativity and exploration. Other tailor-made souvenirs include an A5 notebook featuring a cover and inner sheets adorned with captivating photos of mosaic tiles that were captured by Hiuman; as well as a unique luggage cover showcasing the architectural splendour of two iconic Hong Kong buildings, adding a touch of local flair to your travels. Open for the public for free, the photography exhibition will be on display at the lobby level of Cordis, Hong Kong from 24 August to 30 September 2024.
