EVENT DESCRIPTION

3812 Gallery Hong Kong is excited to present “Ann Carrington Solo Exhibition”, by British contemporary artist Ann Carrington, the artist’s first solo show in Hong Kong, from 15th June to 14th July. The exhibition will showcase a comprehensive selection of Carrington’s oeuvre from the past three years. Carrington specializes in sculpting fantastical metal sculptures that evoke the age of aristocracy. The exhibition features three new artworks by Carrington which pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and one large-scale mixed media sculpture with exquisite pearls, brooches, and tiaras.

Ann Carrington graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Royal College of Art in 1987 and has since been pushing the definition of sculpture through her choices of materials. Well known for her ability to transform ordinary everyday objects into extraordinary and stunningly beautiful artworks, Carrington brings attention to, and celebrates, the everydayness of modern life that is often overlooked in the fast-paced society of mass production, revealing the histories and stories hidden behind mundane objects.
