This November, Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus (OHKCC) proudly presents A Pandastic Life, an original musical celebrating the heart and soul of Hong Kong. Written and produced exclusively for the city, this unique production will take place from 28 to 30 November 2025, at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre.

Through music, dance, and storytelling, A Pandastic Life showcases Hong Kong’s culture and history through the eyes of the city’s beloved pandas. The story follows their remarkable journey, starting with the first generation, An An and Jia Jia, to their current companions Ying Ying, Le Le, and their children Jia Jia and De De, culminating in the newest members, An An and Ke Ke. This heartfelt tale of growth, legacy, and perseverance highlights the pandas’ efforts to adapt to Hong Kong and thrive through the city’s most challenging moments.

The production also features over 70 talented young performers from the Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus, transforming into lively pandas and animal friends. With their pure, angelic voices and energetic performances, they will bring the panda family’s joyful and touching moments to life on stage.

A Pandastic Life is more than just a musical; it’s a love letter to Hong Kong. Through the eyes and hearts of its panda family, the production captures the city’s resilience, warmth, and unique charm. It’s a story of finding home, overcoming challenges, and cherishing the bonds that unite us all.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

Established in January 2008, the Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus (OHKCC) has grown to become one of Hong Kong's leading children's choruses. The mission of OHKCC is to educate, develop, and inspire children to appreciate the joy and beauty of opera while fostering a commitment to excellence in singing and stage performance. In addition to staging its own concerts, OHK Children Chorus collaborates with renowned singers in grand-scale productions by Opera Hong Kong, including The Magic Flute, Turandot, Romeo et Juliette, Otello, Tosca, La boheme, Carmen, Concert by Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Ode to Joy Concert of Ten Thousand, Performance at the 16th Anniversary Establishment of HK SAR, OHK 10th Anniversary Gala Concert, Celebrity Fundraising Concert 2011 and others.
Members of OHKCC enjoy numerous opportunities to learn vocal techniques through master classes and to perform across a diverse range of musical genres, from opera to musical and choral works, both in solo and ensemble settings. They also receive training in the standard foreign languages of opera, including German, Italian, and French. Through these enriching activities, members can discover and nurture their musical talents. while broadening their intellectual capacity and cultural horizons.
