The 2022 Hong Kong Shenzhen Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (Hong Kong)  will open on 27 August.

Organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Architects Biennale Foundation, in conjunction with The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP) and the Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA), and sponsored by CreateHK of HKSAR, the Biennale is jointly curated by a group of 6 emerging architectural graduates including Ms Fei MUI, a veteran licensed architect in the US; Mr Alfred HO who focuses on urban research, local open space, and built environment; Ms Erica CHUI, who is proficient in heritage conservation; Mr Nicky WONG who is keen on the research of heritage and history of Hong Kong; Ms Carla LUNG who actively participates in a range of scaled conservation projects, and Ms LO Wan Ki who specialises in stage design and transdisciplinary theatre and art.

Themed under “Seeds of Resilience, Re(discovering) The City”, over 50 local and overseas exhibitors from various sectors have been invited to imagine and envision new interpretations of coexistence and balance in trying times through the lens of Architecture.

The Biennale 2022 will be held from 27 August (Saturday) to 26 November (Saturday), 2022. A total of 55 inspiring creative works and cross-disciplinary exhibits will be featured at the main venue —  the North Point (East) Ferry Pier and satellite venues across Hong Kong and Shenzhen including the Central Market, the Star Ferry Piers (Central and Tsim Sha Tsui), on the Star Ferry, and the original Jinwei Brewery Industrial Heritage Renewal District in Shenzhen, Luohu.

This year, the exhibition will be implemented in two phases. The exhibition at Central Market will be open on 27 August 2022, and the rest of the exhibition locations will be available on 9 September 2022.
