EVENT DESCRIPTION

SHIFT Dance Company’s debut production COMMON GROUNDS brings together diverse artists, styles and choreographic voices for an exploration of human connection through the shared language of dance.

COMMON GROUNDS will premiere four works choreographed by SHIFT Director Kelsey Ang, SHIFT Artist Carlos Mendoza and Jon Ferrer and internationally acclaimed choreographers, Ashvinder Singh (Philippines) and Dario Dinuzzi (Italy/Canada). The works will feature SHIFT’s company artists and youth performers.

Connecting artists from all over the world has become a SHIFT trademark. This performance is an extension of SHIFT’s mission to celebrate community and invigorate Hong Kong’s contemporary dance scene.

SHIFT Dance is a Hong Kong-based dance platform founded by Kelsey Ang to connect, inspire and empower artists and movers through performance, education and creative exchange. With a focus on diversity, innovation and community, SHIFT develops contemporary dance experiences that bring together different artistic voices while creating professional and developmental opportunities for dancers in Hong Kong and across Asia.
