EVENT DESCRIPTION
After a 12-year hiatus since the “100 Years Before the Birth of Doraemon” exhibition hosted in 2012, Creative brand AllRightsReserved (ARR)and Fujiko Pro join hands again and proudly present the “100% DORAEMON & FRIENDS” Tour (Hong Kong), one of the world’s largest Doraemon exhibitions. The exhibition will run from July 13 to August 11 at the famous landmark Avenue of Stars and Tsim Sha Tsui Harbourfront.
With both free-entry zones and ticketed exhibition areas, the show features the comprehensive Doraemon world of manga art and movies. One of the free-entry zones, “100% Avenue of Stars”, pays tribute to the Hong Kong film industry, with Doraemon and friends, including Nobita, elegantly dressed in formal attire, gracing the iconic Avenue of Stars with the comic-style standees of 13 Hong Kong film practitioners, showcasing along and walking across the Doraemon’s theme color “blue” carpet.
The exhibition also features DORAEMON ID experience, allowing you to personalize your own manga art character and become a friend of Doraemon, in line with the theme of the exhibition “A true friend is always there when you need them” and calls on friends worldwide to come to Hong Kong to meet Doraemon at the Avenue of Stars.
Doraemon and friends will join 13 Hong Kong film practitioners on the Avenue of Stars
Doraemon has become a large part of the collective memories of manga fans for many years, with its movie playing an important role in terms of attendance and achievements in the Japanese and Hong Kong film industries. Hong Kong films have created memorable classics that have put Hong Kong under the spotlight globally in the world of film. The tour takes the opportunity to foster the cultural exchange between Doraemon and Hong Kong’s film culture.
Doraemon’s seven friends, including Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, Suneo, Jaiko, Dorami, Dekisugi, along with 5 others iconic characters from Fujiko F Fujio’s works, such as Esper Mami, Perman No. 1-3, and Korosuke will make surprise appearances at the Avenue of Stars. 13 manga characters will join hands with 13 Hong Kong film practitioners invited by the organizer, include the late veteran voice actor for “Doraemon” and many other film roles Lam Pou Chuen, veteran actress Helena Law, film company founder and legendary film director and producer Johnnie To, current Hong Kong Film Industry Association president, film company founder and actor Louis Koo, actor and singer-songwriter Jay Chou, international star Fala Chen, international star and producer Daniel Wu, actor and singer Ekin Cheng, actor and singer Raymond Lam, veteran actor Lam Suet, actress Chrissie Chau, rising actor Terrance Lau, and rising actress Angela Yuen (in no particular order). Accompanied by Doraemon sculptures, they will be displayed as comic-style standees and this unique display will create a magnificent 100-meter-long “Blue Carpet” event, illuminating the Victoria Harbour skyline.
