On 29 November 2022, “Traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices in China” was officially inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity at the general session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
