SUMMARY:Affordable Art Fair 2026
DESCRIPTION:The 13th edition of Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong takes over the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 14 to 17 May 2026\, welcoming 106 exhibitors for a four day celebration of contemporary creativity. \nThis year’s theme\, “See Art. Love Art. Own Art.”\, extends an invitation to explore and collect original works at prices starting from HK$1\,000. Seasoned collectors and first time buyers alike will find thousands of paintings\, sculptures\, photographs\, and mixed media pieces gathered under one roof. \nFar more than a marketplace\, Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong 2026 unfolds as a cultural festival where art comes alive. The venue transforms through Special Projects 2026\, with large scale installations\, experimental works\, and live performances that invite audiences to step inside and be part of the art. Visitors can discover fresh perspectives in the brand new Photography Feature\, where diverse lenses capture the city’s layered identity. Emerging voices take center stage in Young Talent Hong Kong\, presenting new ideas and creative energy from the next generation. Continuing its spirit of cultural exchange\, the fair collaborates with the British Consulate General Hong Kong\, presenting UK talent through curated exhibitions led by Hugo Barclay\, UK Fair Director of Affordable Art Fair. Finally\, audiences are invited to roll up their sleeves in interactive workshops and live demonstrations\, making creativity a shared\, hands on experience. \nSPECIAL PROJECTS 2026: EXPLORING FIVE JOURNEYS THROUGH INSTALLATIONS\nThis year’s Special Projects at Affordable Art Fair present a series of large scale installations and interactive works that highlight diverse cultural perspectives. Five artists and collectives bring their own journeys into the fair\, creating spaces for pause\, imagination\, generosity\, resilience\, and reflection. From immersive environments to intimate encounters\, these projects invite visitors to step inside\, engage directly\, and experience how art can quietly reshape the way we see ourselves\, each other\, and the world around us. \nNEW PHOTOGRAPHY FEATURE: SIX LENS\, ONE CITY\nAffordable Art Fair Hong Kong debuts a new Photography Feature titled Pieces of Hong Kong\, a celebration of the city through the eyes of six Hong Kong-based artists—Derry Ainsworth\, Jeremy Cheung\, Sean Foley\, Marcel Heijnen\, Jay Khan\, and Carlo Yuen. The exhibition highlights photography’s power not only to document but to interpret and transform\, presenting works that capture fleeting atmospheres\, overlooked details\, and personal perspectives. Each image is a “piece” of Hong Kong\, crafted through timing\, light\, and intention\, and together they form a mosaic of the city’s layered identity. By showcasing multiple styles\, from quiet observation to bold abstraction\, Pieces of Hong Kong invites audiences to connect emotionally with the city and to see photography as collectible art\, offering visitors the chance to carry home a lasting reminder of Hong Kong’s beauty. \nBRITISH CONSULATE GENERAL HONG KONG COLLABORATION BRINGS UK ART TO AFFORDABLE ART FAIR HONG KONG\nAffordable Art Fair Hong Kong will once again collaborate with the British Consulate General Hong Kong in 2026\, presenting a special programme titled Brit ish that celebrates the vibrancy of UK contemporary art. Curated by Hugo Barclay\, UK Fair Director of Affordable Art Fair\, the programme showcases both emerging and established artistic talent from the United Kingdom. \nBrit ish brings together 15 artists working across painting\, photography\, sculpture and printmaking\, whose practices reveal the many ways contemporary British identity is lived\, questioned and reimagined. Presented in Hong Kong\, which is a city that itself embodies cross cultural convergence\, the exhibition explores how belonging is formed not through fixed definitions but through exchange\, encounter\, and a willingness to embrace multiple truths. Deliberately intergenerational\, the exhibition juxtaposes senior British artists who have spent decades refining visual languages of profound maturity with a new generation offering urgent\, emotionally direct perspectives. The dialogue between these cohorts is not one of influence but of mutual illumination\, revealing a British art scene defined less by singular narratives than by overlapping histories\, perspectives and materials. The coexistence of established and emerging artists underscores the fluidity of cultural identity\, reminding audiences that Britishness is continuously built\, questioned and shared. \nYOUNG TALENT HONG KONG: VOICES IN BALANCE\nYoung Talent Hong Kong\, curated by International Art Exchange\, introduces five rising artists whose works explore themes of identity\, memory\, and transformation. Titled No Rise\, the exhibition challenges the idea that art must be ranked or judged\, instead creating space for many voices to coexist equally. Bard Qin harnesses the expressive power of clay\, using subtle glazes and textures to evoke organic life shaped by time; Lola Law’s paintings and drawings navigate the tensions between instinct and thought\, revealing themes of vulnerability and resilience through abstracted forms and energetic marks; Ivy Ho turns to the ambiguity of stars and jagged rotational shapes as meditative forms that invite connection with viewers; Manny Yip\, inspired by her rural upbringing\, reflects on childhood\, culture\, and imagination in works that trace personal and social growth; while Karen Chan employs saturated colours and symbolic language to communicate emotional truths beyond words\, inviting introspection into pain\, sensation\, and selfhood. Together\, their works form a vibrant portrait of Hong Kong’s emerging artistic voices. \nWORKSHOPS: INTERACTIVE ART FOR EVERYONE\nAffordable Art Fair 2026 expands its workshops programme with a stronger focus on interactivity and hands on experiences\, welcoming audiences of all ages and backgrounds. This year’s line up offers opportunities to learn directly from exhibiting artists\, explore traditional and contemporary techniques\, and create personal keepsakes that extend the fair experience beyond the gallery walls. \nAFFORDABLE ART FAIR 2026 SCHEDULE\nVIP Preview (by invitation only)\nThursday\, 14 May\, 2pm – 4pm\nOpening Night\nThursday\, 14 May\, 4pm – 9pm\nPublic Opening Hours\nFriday\, 15 May\, 12pm – 8pm\nSaturday\, 16 May\, 10am – 7pm\nSunday\, 17 May\, 10am – 7pm\nFamily Morning\nSaturday\, 16 May\, 10am – 12pm\nSunday\, 17 May\, 10am – 12pm
