EVENT DESCRIPTION
VERDY, the renowned Japanese graphic artist, is embarking on a new venture at Pacific Place in Hong Kong. Following several successful projects in the city, VERDY is now set to return to captivate Hong Kong with an immersive installation curated in collaboration with Cultural Entrepreneur Kevin Poon for Pacific Place.
Titled VISTY PLAYGROUND @ Pacific Place, this enchanting experience revolves around VERDY’s latest character creation, VISTY. Conceived during the pandemic to bring joy to people during challenging times, VISTY is a friendly monster characterised by a delightful multi-pastel design. The installation at Pacific Place aims to amplify this positive outlook, offering a family-friendly, immersive and interactive experience that transforms the mall’s Garden Court into a vibrant carnival-themed playground, meticulously designed by VERDY to engage the senses. Throughout the exhibition period, an exclusive range of merchandise curated in collaboration with Kevin Poon for Pacific Place will also be available, allowing visitors to take a piece of this enchanting experience home with them.
ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER
VERDY, born in 1987 in Osaka Prefecture, embarked on his artistic journey when he moved to Tokyo in 2012. Creating the graphic design collective VK DESIGN WORKS alongside his college best friend, this Japanese creative’s immense talent and vision have firmly established him as an integral figure in the nation’s vibrant street and art scene.VERDY's impact on the global art scene is undeniable, thanks to the tremendous popularity of his projects: "Girls Don't Cry", "Wasted Youth", and his characters VICK and VISTY. These ventures have propelled his name to international recognition, resonating with audiences across the globe. As a graphic artist, VERDY's unique style has become synonymous with Tokyo's urban culture.
With his finger on the pulse of contemporary culture, VERDY's artistic contributions transcend geographical boundaries. His work serves as a compelling testament to the power of creativity in connecting people and bridging cultural divides.
