The critically acclaimed and multi-award- winning flagship musical production returns to Hong Kong.
Prominent advocate Fong Tong Geng is known for his greed and malice. Suffering a sudden blow to his reputation and wealth, he sets out to right his wrongs and redeem himself as a champion of the common man.
Commissioned by WestK, and co-produced and co-presented with HKRep, The Impossible Trial – a musical features a top-notch creative team, including composer and musical director Leon Ko, lyricist Chris Shum, playwright Cheung Fei Fan, director Fong Chun Kit, and main cast members Lau Shau Ching, Jordan Cheng and Tunes Ting.
Since its Hong Kong premiere in 2022, the flagship production has swept over 20 critics’ awards in Hong Kong and mainland China. This August, after the official premiere in Shanghai and Beijing in summer 2025, the original Cantonese musical returns to Hong Kong in August for a third run – with original star-studded cast, plus additional cast featuring new stars Leung Chung Hang, Ronny Yuen and Sheena Chan.
