The relationship between experience and material value reveals a fundamental quest universally. As individuals increasingly seek fulfilment in memorable moments and connections instead of accumulating possessions, highlighting what truly enriches our lives. With the title “I like expensive shxt,” young artist Leung humorously and candidly articulates her outlook towards living. She cherishes the everyday events and things that enable her to create meaningful experiences. This perspective signifies a generational shift in priorities, as Leung opts to invest in the small pleasures that life brings, highlighting the sentimental significance of each experience rather than focusing solely on the monetary value of each object. She prioritises happiness over the security that tangible possessions can provide, and her joy in observing her surroundings is a key element that fuels her creativity. Her work embodies this quest for pleasure and conveys a desire for deeper fulfilment, reflecting a vibrant and contemporary approach to living.

Leung draws her inspiration from observations of human behaviour and habits. By employing bold colours, contrasting shades, and unconventional compositions, her works convey enchanting visual effects. Her characters often feature disproportioned elements, which contribute a unique charm to her paintings. Through playful creations like “Hot Dog Man,” “Cucumber Man,” and ” Big Toucans,” they encourage audiences to explore endless possibilities for imagination and enjoyment. Leung’s artworks not only reflect her passion in life and commitment to spreading positive energy, but they also encapsulate her inner world. Pieces such as “I said I’m fat not ugly” and “Americano even when I’m freezing” reveal the complexities of human emotions, allowing viewers to connect instantly with her works.
