EVENT DESCRIPTION

To mark the 120th anniversary of the death of Jules Verne, the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macao and the Alliance Française de Hong Kong are organizing the Jules Verne Festival from October 15 to December 5, featuring literary, educational and cultural events to pay tribute to his work.

This exhibition is supported by the Petit Musée du Monde, the Hong Kong Central Library, and the Jules Verne Museum in Nantes. It will immerse you in the life and works of Jules Verne, highlighting classics such as Around the World in Eighty Days, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Five Weeks in a Balloon, From the Earth to the Moon, Michel Strogoff, The Tribulations of a Chinese in China, and The Mysterious Island. It features 12 panels highlighting his major works, as well as a large panel dedicated to his legacy. You will also have the opportunity to admire numerous fascinating objects on loan from the Petit Musée du Monde, including a diving suit, antique books, works of art, shells, dinosaur teeth and even a board game!
As a bonus, the creations of the students in the LFI art classes will be displayed on easels throughout the exhibition.
