EVENT DESCRIPTION
3812 Gallery is pleased to present “Love Language: Joanne Chan Solo Exhibition”, the artist’s inaugural solo exhibition with 3812. Featuring a body of new works created in 2024, the exhibition endeavors to capture Chan’s delicate sensibilities and profound regard for individual and communal sentiments through her predominantly vibrant and expressive brushstrokes.
Art is a universal medium that articulates emotions and transcends the constraints of spoken words, enabling audiences to immerse themselves in love and expression. For Chan, each work is a heartfelt disclosure of her personal story and intense feelings – a love language that narrates the intricacies of human experience, encompassing both suffering and joy. In her latest works, vibrant hues cascade across the canvas, marking a departure from her previous works, symbolising her evolution from introspective explorations to a compassionate embrace of collective remembrance.
Throughout Chan’s artistic journey, she confronts her emotions head-on, untangling tumultuous thoughts and weaving them together through brushstrokes, texture variations, and harmonious color palettes on canvas. By inviting viewers into her distinctive aesthetic realm, Chan guides them through the landscapes she portrays, leading them on an emotional odyssey that offers fresh insights into the complexities of identity.
