EVENT DESCRIPTION

artèthing Gallery is proud to present Eric Yu solo exhibition – Playing with Light. The exhibition will take place from 29th August to 16th September at Artèthing Gallery, located at S507, Block A, PMQ, Central, Hong Kong.

Playing with Light explores the theme of joy in absurdity, drawing inspiration from frozen photographs of children’s play spaces. Through the skillful use of mediums such as handmade print process and 3D printing, Yu gracefully intertwine techniques to create captivating artworks.

The journey of each artwork begins as light, transforming into vibrant graphics that come alive through the use of a plotter. While Eric employs unique techniques, the essence of “painting with light,” which lies at the heart of photography, remains a constant thread throughout the exhibition. This collection delves into the realm of playful engagement, offering a imaginative response to the absurdities of the world. The imagery of frozen playgrounds serves as a catalyst, sparking over Yu’s series that united as an essence. Metal, light, and pixels engage in a captivating conversation, inviting viewers to explore the depths of their imagination.
