Choi Sai-ho ─ Hush‧Rush

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Hong Kong electronic musician and multimedia artist Choi Sai–ho is adept at expanding the audience’s imagination in time, geography and space through the interaction of sounds and moving images.

The title of this exhibition, “Hush‧Rush”, connotes the tension that is set to be unleashed in the gallery space: LED screens and 360 degree projections set up in a Grade II historical building that was once a yacht warehouse, showing videos of birds flying over a beach juxtaposed with a crowded, fast-moving urban landscape, while the natural sound of ocean waves gradually transitions to the beats of electronic music….

All these seemingly confusing yet alluring landscapes represent real-life Hong Kong, a city of a mere 1,113.76 square kilometres, in a nutshell.
