Charity Night at Area 51

EVENT DESCRIPTION

JPS Gallery is delighted to present Charity Night at Area 51, a charity exhibition held from the 8th to the 17th of September, 2023. All gross proceeds from this exhibition will be donated to the Cancerinformation.com.hk Charity Foundation (CICF) to support their services for cancer patients and survivors.

This exhibition will feature artworks by seven artists, including Barminski from the United States, Okokume from Spain, Shoko Mihira from Japan and Hong Kong artists Afa Annfa, Peep, Prodip and Jackie Lam a.k.a. 009. All works donated by the artists will be up for charity sales and the gross proceeds will be donated to CICF to fund their services for cancer patients and their families facing adversity.

Using art as a means of support to local cancer patients in need, this event marks the first collaboration between JPS Gallery and CICF. In addition to JPS Gallery’s dedication towards fostering the development of art and culture, the gallery also actively plans and participates in philanthropic activities supporting the local and global community. In a society in great need of cancer services, CICF strives to provide cancer patients with comprehensive physical and mental support during their long treatment periods. The charity exhibition Charity Night at Area 51 aims to gain the public’s awareness and support of CICF so more cancer patients can benefit from their services.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

Cancerinformation.com.hk Charity Foundation (known as “the CICF”), is a local NGO formed by a group of cancer patients and cancer survivors with the aim of delivering practical and professional advice and information to the patients and their caregivers. To encourage our members to be active and positive in treating their diseases, different kinds of activities such as medical talks, workshops and chat groups will be organised. It is hoped that through the exchange of their own experience and ideas could mutual help and support be achieved.
