The 10 Asian Designers to Watch exhibition is an annual event organized by Fashion Asia Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Design Centre, held in Hong Kong as part of the Hong Kong Fashion Fest. The exhibition showcases cutting-edge capsule collections from ten emerging Asian fashion designers selected by industry experts. For 2025, the event will take place from December 5-7 at the Clockenflap Music & Arts Festival in the Central Harbourfront.

Shortlisted by a panel of esteemed fashion industry leaders, ten extraordinary Asian fashion designers are spotlighted by FASHION ASIA in a vibrant and unique fashion exhibition.

ACT N°1 (Mainland China): Luca Lin, a designer of Italian-Chinese heritage and a Milan graduate, began his fashion career at Max Mara Group. In 2016, he founded ACT N°1, inspired by his multicultural background, to advocate for diversity, inclusivity, and social justice, using fashion as a platform to support marginalized communities. The brand strives to promote equality and women’s rights, envisioning a world that transcends race, gender, and appearance.

KHOKI (Japan): KHOKI is a Tokyo-based design brand shaped by a collective spirit. Its garments are born not from a singular vision, but through the quiet dialogue of many hands – a process where craft, emotion, and construction converge. Since its founding, the KHOKI has focused on making clothing where the human touch is always visible, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern sensibility. The brand’s approach to form defines its identity -reinterpreting traditional menswear through expressive cuts and a refined sensitivity to fabric. Drawing from a wide range of cultural traditions and a spectrum of aesthetic references, KHOKI allows contrasting elements to coexist with understated harmony. Techniques such as quilting, Kantha, and Suzani embroidery are not decorative accents, but essential to the garments’ identity and narrative. KHOKI seeks to be recognized not by name, but through the experience each garment offers.

KIT WAN STUDIOS (Hong Kong): Kit Wan, a Hong Kong and Oslo-based fashion designer and visual artist, crafts unique abstract reality through costumes, multimedia installations, 3D graphics, and sound design. Following his studies at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (BA) and the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (MA), Wan explores the interplay between humans and technology, drawing inspiration from mechanical aesthetics, manga, and sci-fi subcultures. His visually captivating work has been featured in esteemed publications such as GQ, Elle, The New York Times, and Vogue, and showcased on stages like Eurovision and the Grammys. He received the “Young Artist Work Scholarship” by The Arts Council of Norway, with pieces from his MA collection housed in Oslo’s National Museum archive. His studio collaborates with brands like Apple, Epson, Lenovo, and Samsung, and creates performative works for Denmark’s Hotel Pro Forma. Since 2020, Wan has designed numerous costumes for leading Asian musical talents.

LỰU ĐẠN (Vietnam): LỰU ĐẠN is a luxury menswear label established by designer Hung La in 2021. A first-generation Vietnamese American residing in London, La pursued his passion for fashion design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Upon graduating, he landed a role at Balenciaga under Nicolas Ghesquière, and later worked alongside Phoebe Philo at Céline. In 2016, La, together with his partner Léa Dickely, launched the luxury womenswear label Kwaidan Editions. The name LỰU ĐẠN is inspired by La’s Vietnamese heritage, combining the words for “Pomegranate” and “Bullet” to form a colloquial expression meaning “Dangerous Man.” The brand respects heritage and generational sacrifice while celebrating the creation of new legacies as its community breaks free of tropes and expectation.

OSCAR OUYANG (Mainland China): Originally from Beijing, Central Saint Martins graduate Oscar Ouyang doesn’t approach design like most people. While others work with existing materials, he is more interested in building things from scratch, starting with the material itself. After completing his BA and MA programmes at Central Saint Martins, he founded his eponymous brand, OSCAR OUYANG, with Yibo Chen, a Royal College of Art MA Fashion Womenswear alum. The London-based brand has been stocked in Dover Street Market globally and throughout major APEC markets since its debut collection. It focuses on gender-neutral fashion and knitwear, with a particular emphasis on sustainable practices. Drawing inspiration from military wear, nature, and edgy street style, Ouyang’s unique aesthetic offers a fresh perspective on traditional craftsmanship.

Penultimate (Mainland China): Penultimate is a collection of wearable art, designed in Shanghai by Xiang Gao. Born and raised in Wenzhou, China, Gao completed her master’s degree at Parsons School of Design and gained valuable experience working under Raf Simons at Calvin Klein 205W39NYC. In 2018, she launched Penultimate in New York. Celebrating craftsmanship, Gao draws inspiration from her Chinese heritage and American experiences, employing mixed-material assemblage techniques reminiscent of the 1970s Wearable Art movement. In fusing found materials with modern silhouettes, Gao creates imaginative capsule collections at a slow and steady pace. Every piece has its own story. Penultimate was selected as a semi-finalist for the LVMH Prize 2025.

swaying/knit (Mainland China): swaying/knit is a Shanghai-based avant-garde knitwear label founded in 2018 by fashion knitwear and textile designer Shasha Wong. Wong earned her Master’s degree in Womenswear Knitwear from the Royal College of Art in 2017, following her graduation from the University of Arts London. Her graduation collections were recognised as Vogue Talents by Vogue Italia in both 2014 and 2017.

Tamme (Japan): Tamme is a Tokyo-based menswear label established in 2021 by designer Tatsuya Tamada, originally from Fukushima. Following his graduation from Bunka Fashion College in 2012, Tamada studied abroad in Paris and then spent six years honing his craft at Sacai before debuting Tamme’s 2021 Fall/Winter collection. Dedicated to honoring the history and culture of clothing, Tamme proposes contemporary garments that blend classic and modern elements. By reconstructing these pieces for the present, they offer a diverse and unbound perspective on fashion. The brand received the TOKYO FASHION AWARD 2025, and Tamada is also a recipient of the 86th Soen Award.

Zhong Zixin (Mainland China): Zhong Zixin is a lifestyle fashion brand that begins with clothing and extends into homeware, all inspired by the notion of “home.” The brand’s collections bridge the gap between fashion and home decor with modern Art Deco elements. Established in Shanghai in 2021 by designer Zixin Zhong, who graduated with a master’s degree in womenswear from Central Saint Martins in 2018, the brand quickly captured attention when she showcased her work at London Fashion Week the same year. Her designs masterfully balance artistic expression with wearability, often showcasing sculptural silhouettes and a distinct aesthetic that emphasises feminine lines.
